Bamboo Retreat began as a traditional family house in the heart of Virajpet — close to a hundred years old, full of vintage wood, character and memory. Rather than tear it down, we restored it: keeping the antique soul intact while adding the comforts that make a modern stay effortless.
Today it sits on 1.8 acres wrapped in greenery, home to 50+ varieties of plants and bamboo that give the retreat its name. Step through the gate and the pace changes — this is a place to breathe out.

Can I book just a few rooms, or only the whole villa?
Both. The villa is usually booked as a whole unit for up to 12 guests, but booking select rooms is possible — just message us and we'll sort it out.
Do you have bunk beds / budget options for solo travellers?
Yes — there's a bunk-bed dormitory that's ideal for solo travellers and backpackers on a budget. Availability and pricing vary by season, so drop us a WhatsApp for today's rate.
Are meals included? What do they cost?
Meals are freshly cooked from a fixed menu and charged per person: breakfast ₹350, lunch ₹800, dinner ₹800, or an all-meals package at ₹1,700 (plus 18% GST, paid at the property). Veg and non-veg, with Jain on request. Please share preferences at least 48 hours ahead.
Can you arrange a bonfire or BBQ?
Yes — a bonfire can be arranged on request (₹1,200) and a BBQ at additional cost. Both are favourites for evenings under the open sky.
Is there a kitchen we can use?
No — guests don't have access to the kitchen, and outside food and delivery aren't permitted. Meals are taken care of for you.
Is parking available? Can I drive up?
Yes — you can drive all the way up to the parking area, and up to 2 cars can be parked comfortably. An EV charging facility is available (usage charges apply).
Is it pet-friendly?
Unfortunately not — this isn't a pet-friendly property.
Is it suitable for senior citizens or wheelchair users?
All four bedrooms are on the ground floor, which helps; however the property isn't wheelchair accessible and isn't recommended for guests with significant mobility challenges.
Is Wi-Fi / mobile network reliable?
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all rooms (subject to network), and BSNL / Airtel work fairly well here.
Is there power backup?
Yes — in case of a power cut, a generator keeps the basics running (lights and fans).
What about the security deposit?
A refundable deposit of ₹10,000 is collected with the booking and refunded within 5 working days of check-out, provided guest count and timings are adhered to.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 2:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible subject to availability.
Are alcohol and smoking allowed?
Alcohol is allowed in designated areas — please enjoy responsibly. Smoking is permitted in outdoor areas only.
Are unmarried couples and LGBTQ guests welcome?
Absolutely. Adults with valid IDs are welcome, and we warmly host guests across the spectrum.
Can I host an event, celebration or a shoot?
Yes — the villa is suitable for events and shoots (costs may differ from the stay cost). Tell us what you have in mind.
Can I invite day visitors?
Generally not, but with prior permission and within reasonable limits it may be allowed — visitors must carry ID and an extra charge may apply.
Is there a host or caretaker on site?
The host is reachable any time by call or message, and a trained caretaker stays on the premises to help with anything you need.
